Is One ALWAYS AWARE WHEN THEY ARE STRESSED?

No! One is not ALWAYS AWARE WHEN THEY ARE STRESSED!

Humans can experience stress with no awareness of it. This is because stress is not limited to the subjective feeling experienced by an individual i.e., it is not simply the nervous tension.

Stress is a measurable set of objective physiological events in the body, involving the brain, the hormonal apparatus, the immune system, and many other organs.

Hans Selye, known for his renowned work on stress, has pointed out through research that one can be experiencing stress even without visible effects on behavior and without subjective awareness.

While nervous tension is the widely known component of stress, one can be stressed without feeling tense. On the other hand, it is possible to feel tense without activating the physiological mechanisms of stress.
